Bitcoin - The Currency of the Internet

A community dedicated to Bitcoin, the currency of the Internet. Bitcoin is a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. You might be interested in Bitcoin if you like cryptography, distributed peer-to-peer systems, or economics. A large percentage of Bitcoin enthusiasts are libertarians, though people of all political philosophies are welcome.

Sir, you need to use google to your advantage. You’re asking a question that cannot be answered as simply as you’d like. You’re going to need to learn what bitcoin is, how it’s exchanged and then research your country’s regulatory rules.
It’s like me going to a sub for pilots and saying “hey guys I’m new to flying, how do I fly an airplane?”
Do you think that could be explained in a single comment? Absolutely not. This is common sense that spans beyond crypto, Reddit and the internet in general.
As others mentioned, read the side bar. That’s literally why it’s there, so this sub is filled with the same question: “how do I buy bitcoin”.
Got it?

Thousands of blockchains? The apparent hypocrisy, thousands less the 1 blockchain that wants to be the dominant bitcoin blockchain. If you can't see how Exchanges (middlemen) benefit from fracturing utility of a single blockchain you may be overlooking the benefits of Bitcoin.

How is storing my bitcoin on a wallet such as breadwallet more secure? Can't the app also disappear, just like an exchange like Coinbase can be hacked, and I'll lose access to my coins just the same?

A friend wants to send money to people in Bosnia. I told him Bitcoin may be a great solution. We need to know how the people over there can exchange their Bitcoin to their local currency. Any good ideas? Users from Bosnia actually here?

Title explains it all. Happy for all answers!
P.S.: It's for family and for freelancers. And the guys over there don't really use the Internet much, so we have to explain it to make it as easy as possible for them. Right now I have no idea how to solve this since most exchanges online use USD/EUYEN, some Altcoins and that's it. Correct me if I'm wrong and missed some exchange on my radar.
The freelancers over there are working on some documentary with my friend. Sending money via a bank transfer would be way too expensive, so let's see if we can benefit from Bitcoin in this case. :))
(I personally only use Kraken.com because they are quick, reliable and work great for people in Germany like me. But I think for Bosnia we need to use some exchange which we don't know yet.)
/Edit: As far as I know the currency is called "BAM". But I really don't know shit about Bosnia and my friend is currently away. :F
