WALLETS, SETUP GUIDES & SNAPSHOTS
Just a reminder for the community and also for any new members, we have added a Wallet Setup Guides page, which takes any first time user of Mousecoin step-by-step through the process of installing their Mousecoin wallet and getting it online. The guide uses the latest blockchain snapshot found on the Wallet Downloads Page in the example explanation meaning that all new members of the Mousecoin community will be able to get their wallets online faster as the sync time should be minimal. We will be updating the blockchain snapshot at least once every month to ensure that people have access to the most up to date blockchain info. The latest blockchain snapshot was performed on the 1st June 2020.
The wallet version is currenty V1.0.0.0, with future releases of the Mousecoin wallet coming soon
If you are new to crypto currency or just after a bit of guidance setting up the Mousecoin wallet, check out our Wallet Setup Guides

POS & STAKING
In the last month we asked the community if they would be interested in being a part of a Community Staking Pool. After investigations into this finding security flaws in most platforms, as well as the lack of interest from members of the community we have decided to not go ahead with the Community Staking Pool. While we understand that there are members of the Mousecoin Community that are unable to stake themselves for whatever reason, and that there are a number of staking platforms that offer pool staking for MIC3 to help these people stake, we will not officially be supporting any staking platforms. We ask all Community members using these or thinking about using these to keep in mind that any MIC3 hosted on these platforms is not in their wallets, and therefore not controlled by them. Do proper investigations into any platform that you use for this as there is always the possibility of loss. We encourage all members of the Mousecoin Community to stake from their own wallet (where possible) as this helps us to secure the network. If you need help setting up your wallet, go to our Wallet Setup Guides page for step-by-step guides on setting up your Mousecoin wallet.
MOUSECOIN FAUCETS
We have updated the Mousecoin (MIC3) Faucets Page:
To make things clearer and we will be adding more faucets soon!
EXCHANGES
Last month we saw the edition of the USDT/MIC3 pair to nanu exchange. In our efforts to increase exposure of Mousecoin, we are still attempting to list on both ATAIX and Unnamed.Exhchange.
ATAIX We have risen to 18th position in the voting list on ATAIX, but we still need your votes. Remember you can vote every 24 hours for this listing, and you can share in 125,000,000 MIC3
📷
Unnamed.Exhchange The exchange listing for Unnamed.Exhchange is 0.05 BTC. For anyone unfamiliar with the exchange there are two ways that you can donate to the listing:
1. If you are already a member of, or wish to be a member of Unnamed.Exhchange (and why wouldn’t you), you can put funds towards our listing by tipping us through the trollbox (Mousecoins). If you wish to be a member of Unnamed.Exhchange, you can register here: https://www.unnamed.exchange/Login/Register
2. You can also donate to the listing fee through the following addresses: BTC – bc1qmaqzhfqcw0urva0rtgfz5qvq4rw7kdnp6j7754 LTC – ltc1qc775eeftdde2jrevnyukrd2w9853jy5gmtv6rn DOGE – DEnBpriaFnKiNeBv6Q7MVxMg5hLv5urQFg UTIP – AUTyu2JhGAaCkM3KAmeBopto2bNBchNJfE
If you would like to donate in another crypto available on Unnamed.Exhchange, we have opened up the chat on the Discord channel HERE to assist with this. Please request the address and we will provide it for you. ANY AND ALL DONATIONS ARE WELCOME!! This is a good exchange and getting a listing her should help lift the profile of MIC3.
We will be reporting balances to the discord channel https://discord.gg/cYuA8FA
COMMUNITY FUND
📷
In the last month the Community Fund has undergone a huge amount of change. We have completely moved all of our remaining balances away from 4Stake, with the MIC3 going to the Community Fund MIC3 account and the remaining crypto’s towards out listing on Unnamed.Exhchange. The Community Fund page on the website has also been updated to reflect all of the changes. It is an exciting time for the Community Fund as we have now reached a balance that will sustain itself. This is why we have introduced the Community Member payment, and are able to sustain the faucets we have on https://erex.io/freecoin/ and in the Phoneum Games. There is still more to come!

Beginner’s Guide to Exchanges – Part 1

Beginner’s Guide to Exchanges – Part 1

Hola Compadres! It is me u/poop_dragon here with another guide. Today I would like to run through a list of ETH exchanges. This is just Part 1 of this list, and it covers established exchanges. Soon I will post Part 2 and 3 which will go into some other types of exchanges (derivative markets, coin converters, decentralized, and foreign exchanges) Side note, I have given rating to these exchanges based on some comparisons, news, and information which I have found online. Recently, EVERY exchange has been slow/unresponsive in their customer service due to the huge influx of new users. My intention is to help educate new users about the exchanges available. I am not trying to discredit, advertise, pump up, or damage reputations. If you feel something is inaccurate, please respectfully bring it up in the comments. I will be editing as we go. Last thing of note, I have only included the lowest level trading tier to calculate trading fees, which assumes the highest rates. Most exchanges offer lower fees for bigger orders, but I have gone with the assumption that everyone here is not dropping whale amounts of cash.

I miss Bitfinex already

I've extracted all my money and kept only the BFX tokens. At 0.35 they are mostly gone anyway and it's a better gamble to keep them, I think. I lost tens of thousands already. I was with them for the very start, when Raphael was answering my support emails and almost all BTC was held in coldstorage , for a large withdrawal you had to wait until the next day for the hot wallet to be manually replenished. That felt safe, how could it all degrade into this multisig disaster ?
That being said, I had no idea in what sorry state of affairs the rest of the bitcoin landscape is. I've tried to move to Coinbase, they are absolutely anal with KYC, I will not have a 6 figure amount stuck there at their discretion. Kraken, what a big joke, their two factor for withdrawals can be disabled without providing the second factor, are these guys serious ? When exchanging 3 figures in Bitcoin, the slippage alone cost me a few hundred dollars and a half a day of my time. Horrendous funding fees. What a poorly written interface, I need to keep multiple tabs open to see the order book and switch between them to execute trades. Most other exchanges with the exception of itbit and Bitstamp look like something cobbled together by teenagers in their spare time complete with "trollboxes" and/or have ridiculous volumes, bad history and dubious ownership.
There is simply nothing comparable to the pre-hack Bitfinex out there. Post hack, it's temping to say that most exchanges are better than Bitfinex, but I really wonder how many of these dodgy exchanges would fold if a massive number of customers came to them ? Probably most, some by the hands of insiders.
Looking at the options we have, I start to think that maybe a Bitfinex with a 36% confirmed chance of hacking every 4 years and where you earn 20% per year in interest is not that bad. Until decentralized exchanges gain margin trading, we are left in the wilderness.

Trying to get off Mercatox - My experience so far... and plea for help.

meor Crypto_Jasper brightmonkey
EDIT: For those who don't know, the XRB wallet on Mercatox has been in "Maintenance" for days... So...
Today I decided to go ahead and take any incurred losses and sell my Mercatox-held XRB just so I could get the heck off the worst excuse for an exchange that I have ever dealt with...
Well, it's not going so well. And my experience has me even more concerned.
I have heard some noise that Mercatox might processes some TXs manually. Why would they do that? Are they only letting small-value TXs through because they are worried that everyone would just leave in droves otherwise? I don't even want to try to withdraw everything using a large number of small TXs and pay all those inflated fees to Mercatox.
So, I'm still stuck AND I no longer have most of my XRB stack. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Oh and one more horrible development - Mercatox is allowing their trollbox to be full of scammer users pretending to be Mercatox Support and offering "alternative" and "faster" ETH deposit addresses and other garbage. That is a nightmare and Mercatox is allowing all of it.
Since Mercatox has been back online after losing their domain a few days ago, has ANYONE successfully withdrawn more than, say $500 worth of crypto in a single TX?
Thanks! Any advice is appreciated.
EDIT: GOOD NEWS!!! Just now (Sunday, Jan 7th, 23:38 UTC), I successfully transferred more than $700 worth of Bitcoin out of Mercatox! My confidence is rising that we won't get shafted any more than we already have...

Dogecoin Buyers Club

Here is my verdict. Your mileage may vary. This is me thinking out loud so that you can make up your own mind. Don't hold me responsible for anything. So there's that.
The battle of dogecoin takes place at the btc-to-doge trade at Poloniex. Every other exchange is secondary. Short term.
Usually when dogecoin rises on Poloniex, shorters go to work lending dogecoin and sell, sell, sell into the buy wall ('Shorting', for short, is earning money by betting that dogecoin will lose value, and, on Poloniex, also to make it actually happen). Equally usual, the shorters enjoy the sudden influx of whale-size dogecoin amounts rushing in to help the shorters even more. The dogecoin blockchain tells this every time.
But yesterday the whale cavalry never came (not for 11 hours at least, had to nap after that). Easily seen by viewing every single block (true story) and its transaction numbers/amount ratio as it actually happened. I could, for most of the time, only spot happy shibes transferring non-disturbing amounts.
This is no rocket science, really, but manually viewing the blockchain is paramount in order to get past all the other fun-facts-but-worthless-statistics when it comes to shorter mitigation.
Currently the shorters are being stock raving mad about their shorts potentially failing. So they double down on their efforts. Throwing more and more money into this shorting carousel. Tripling down. Quadrupling down even. As it seems to me.
So. If you care to buy dogecoin using bitcoin. AND care for the dogecoin value to rise:
-Do it on Poloniex.
-Watch every block on the dogecoin blockchain. Get aquainted with the ratio between number of transactions and the grand total sum of every block.
-Play defense while online and monitoring your trades, by placing buy orders only.
-Remember to watch out for 2nd level verification at Poloniex. Maybe it is better to forget the notorious Poloniex hassle and only trade within the 1st level verification money limit.
-After buying dogecoin, get it the hell out of Poloniex. Exchanges are not your personal wallet for all eternity. Countless people lost their money that way.
-Don't lend your dogecoin to the shorters of Poloniex. Shorters are using it to decrease the dogecoin value, remember?
Lastly about the headline. 'Dogecoin Buyers Club' is a play with words referring to the film Dallas Buyers Club'. Referring to the fact that it is possible to work together in order to achieve something. In this case the proposal of buying dogecoin on Poloniex only.
You. Of course. Do whatever. Thanks.
Edit: Pro tip: Close the Poloniex trollbox while making strategic trading decisions. And after deciding, stick to what you decided. Wars are won before the battles.
Edit2: "To meet the increasing demands on support staff, the Trollbox has been disabled indefinitely and moderators have been reallocated to assist in support." Trollbox gone on Poloniex could mean that shorters must monitor dogecoin more closely for any movements. Moreover, if you are watching dogechain blocks, please click next block links, evaluate what you are experiencing, and finally refresh until 'None' turns into a link to a the latest created block.

Current market overview when it comes to market cap Top10

I just can't believe this Bytecoin Shitcoin is still being pumped... But yeah, crypto markets are not about understanding, but more about faith (or just simple market manipulation).
When it comes to market cap, we now have this Top10 situation:
So now, please explain me this recent pumping of mostly thin air? Have I missed something in these 10 coins? I'm still all in Monero and Bitcoin, since Monero in my understanding has the best tech & devs and Bitcoin is more like a sentiment for me. But I really don't like the whole blocksize debacle which should have been solved for years but still is not.

Beginner's Guide to Exchanges - Part 2

Beginner’s Guide to Exchanges – Part 2

A little late, but as promised here is Part 2 of the Beginner’s Guide to Exchanges. I would like to sincerely thank everyone for their support and feedback in making these.
Link to Part 1
This time I also made a Google Docs survey in the hopes of sharing the results with the community. I thought we could share what we use as a whole and why redditors choose the exchanges they do. For skeptics (as you all should be), I assure you that I am not collecting personal information. This is for recreation and if you are still wary, then by all means abstain!

In Part 3 I will be wrapping up this series by covering decentralized, semi-decentralized, and derivative exchanges. Here it goes!

06 – Fiat Exchanges – South Korea

안녕하세요 여러분! 혹시 우리 한국인 친구 이 보고서를 한국어로 읽고 싶어한다면 알려주세요. 관심이 많이 있다면 간단한 한국어 보고서도 만들 수 있습니다. This year, ETH has taken off like a rocket in the Land of the Morning Calm. With a population of just 50 million, South Koreans account for almost 30% of daily ETH trade volume. Even more surprising is that currently the daily volume of ETH is about 5 times higher than that of Bitcoin on Korean exchanges. Since demand is high, ETH is trading at a premium on Korean exchanges. Some users have been talking about capitalizing off this imbalance by trading on arbitrage between exchanges. For those who have no connection to Korea and hope to do so, I have bad news – all Korean exchanges require a National ID number and access to a Korean bank account. This makes Korean exchanges virtually closed to Korean nationals and those with long-term visas. Sorry everyone.

Coinone

Korbit

07 – Fiat Exchanges – China

With a great deal of anticipation, major Chinese exchanges started trading ETH this summer. Since these exchanges deal huge volumes of Bitcoin already, naturally it was expected that they invest heavily into ETH as well. So far this hasn’t quite lived up to the hype with many exchanges still favoring Bitcoin, Litecoin, Altcoins, and even Ethereum Classic (Gulp). Three of these exchanges underwent inspections by the Peoples Bank of China earlier this year and will be working closely with the government to ease fears of money laundering and market manipulation. There are a lot of Chinese sites, and since my Chinese is non-existent this list is basically just for name recognition. In many ways these sites are very similar in regards to security, verification, and fees compared to their western counterparts; just marketed at a different audience and currency. If users are seriously interested in these exchanges and making reviews, please contribute or ask!

[POLONIEX INSOLVENCY?] - Withdraw request has been "Awaiting Approval" for almost a week now, I'm unable to touch my funds, over $80k account balance!

PLEASE HELP ME UPVOTE THIS THREAD PLEASE GUYS - MY FAMILY ARE BEGINNING TO SUFFER FROM THIS ISSUE.
Dear community, I'm reaching out here to pass on my version of events as to what's been happening between myself and Poloniex over the past week, I'm still yet to receive a response and it's beginning to cause concern.
I was going to mention my Poloniex e-mail address here, but for security purposes and for my own sanity, I'd prefer to leave that out as we all know the kinds of spam that would come flooding in..
As a fully verified and long-term trader with Poloniex, I'd have thought that I'd be treated with a little bit of support as and when required. I've attempted to process a withdrawal (not too large) just under a week ago, and to my surprise, up comes the "Awaiting Approval" notice. I have since opened a ticket raising concern as to why this has happened and have received no human interaction from the support team, other than the ticket being responded to with what seems to be an automated message from "Adebajo" and the ticket itself being allocated to a support team member named "Javan".
They never respond. Because this is quite a large amount of money (to me), it makes no sense as to why they wouldn't respond to my requests, except to say that that a reasonable person would consider them insolvent, or simply backlogged with thousands of tickets. (But wasn't the trollbox indefinitely disabled to free up time for the support team to handle these kinds of situations?).
Almost a week later, and nothing (despite me adding a bunch of messages onto the support ticket in a desperate attempt to get some kind of response).
I fully agree with those of you who claim that holding money on an exchange is never a good idea. But I've put my trust in Poloniex for over a year now, and up until now they haven't done me wrong.
In light of Poloniex recently announcing their plans to not support the happenings on August 1st, I ask the question as to who gets my "Bitcoin Cash" when the chain-split occurs? After all, I don't have the private keys for the Poloniex wallets, I only have my own. I'm trying to exercise the right to hold posession of my coins, is that too much to ask?
As an honest and hardworking trader, I kindly ask that someone, somewhere from Poloniex hopefully sees this post and can reach out to me to provide some support in this matter. I'm just a PM away.
God bless.

Welcome to Polkadot's subreddit - read this guide to get started!

Welcome to dot. Here you will find guides, tools, news, discussions and more.

Subreddit Rules:
What is Polkadot?
Polkadot is a platform that allows diverse blockchains to transfer messages, including value, in a trust-free fashion; sharing their unique features while pooling their security. In brief, Polkadot is a scalable heterogeneous multi-chain technology.
Polkadot is heterogeneous because it is entirely flexible and makes no assumption about the nature or structure of the chains in the network. Even non-blockchain systems or data structures can become parachains if they fulfill a set of criteria.
Polkadot may be considered equivalent to a set of independent chains (e.g. a set containing Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Namecoin and Bitcoin) except with important additions: pooled security and trust-free interchain transactability.

Congratulations PARTICL team! - 16-04-2017 (PART/SDC trading analysis post crowdfund completion)

Well the PARTICL crowdfund is officially over and in spite of some doubts I had during week 2 and 3 of this 4 week event, they managed to fill all their funding milestones!
-This means the outstanding 1.49 million SDC will be converted to PART and 80% of it will be redistributed to the crowd funder participants (the other 20% of this pot will go to the dev wallet).
In other words anyone who bought SDC at <$1.60 (and swapped it for PART) got a good deal in my opinion.
...
I've used the experience to diversify my holdings and engage in day trading/swing trading a little more. I won't deny when you've stared at the charts and orderbooks, it's tempting to dive in. Experience is a blessing in this game and whilst I brace myself for the long wait (8 weeks) for PARTICL to hit exchanges, I accept I'm going to be holding this one for a very long time in crypto world; 9 months.
I don't think it's worth selling the PARTICL token so soon, given all the potential, all the recent transparency, all the videos and casts/communications explaining what PARTICL is and the likelihood that this will continue. The SDC development may have been shrouded in secrecy but it looks like PARTICL is going to be a much more transparent and open affair.
I will personally be reverting to a pattern of holding (and possibly accumulating) ETH, PART and REP whilst trading in other alts over varying time frames. That says something about my market biases but I will say I've learnt that having no biases is more important to making money in this space overall. It hurt that I'd spent a lot of time wrapped up in SDC and I'm sad to see it go but diversifying and choosing the path I have has helped greatly and recovered my unrealised gains when SDC was at $5.
...
To those that got burned buying SDC at the top remember there's opportunity in every asset to pump. Even BTCD (Bitcoin Dark) pumped 1000% to $11 after it been abandoned by the devs. The reality is that markets are stupid (like mobs are stupid) because the bulk of traders that comprise them are untrained and follow patterns rather than lead or anticipate them. Look at other assets trading in the cryptospace; >100-200% losses can be quickly recovered in 1-2 smartly timed and executed trades.
I am not saying buy SDC. Now is a terrible time to do so. Instead if you want to play a game of profit with other people's stupidity, just watch the chart, daily trading volume and order book for a while and see if someone is attempting to accumulate and pump it. The API exchange bots will continue their business of automated trading to settle price to the mean but it might be an opportunity.
That said this is an awful idea when you consider how many and how often other alt coins will pump in value. Hedging with some mental stop losses and conditional sells (I never enter conditional buy/sell orders on Poloniex or Bittrex as I personally believe they monitor the books) can prove profitable if you are patient, willing to wait months on each asset and check the prices daily, selling when the almost inevitable 100% rise comes. Remember the average return on a traditional stock index is 10% PA - 100% PA is a good return in contrast for what is essentially a stress free strategy.
...
I am increasingly bullish on PARTICL. I even have some suggested solutions to their potential problem of attracting vendors:
...
So keep that in mind. I believe the future of blockchain technology lies not in being a currency but in providing services and platforms to implement real world fundamental change; whether this makes markets more efficient, decentralised and secure or increases accessibility to ownership rights and investment potential I believe the platforms that will succeed in the longer term are those that attempt to draw non-speculative revenue into their ecosystem.
So many crypto-tokens are obsessed with being currencies. That to me shows a real lack of imagination (and a get rich quick, screw other people over mentality) among many developers in the cryptospace. That said projects like Ethereum, Particl, Augur, ARK, Library Credits (and quite a few others) transcend these tendencies and provide the real future of this space.
Similarly I hope the new class of chains which take advantage of the masternode/PoS mechanisms and implement self-funding budgets like PIVx/DASH/Decred and now Stratis use those growing budgets (both in coin number and exponentially in coin price) to interface with the real world in some way and fund public development, small businesses and acquire real estate and utilities similar to corporations that acquire such assets to increase their intrinsic value and create a perpetuating and stimulated real-world economy that rewards the token holders of those participating chains (see this article I wrote here: https://www.reddit.com/pivx/comments/657ej2/i_hope_pivx_aspires_to_be_more_than_just_a/).
Anyway I'm done for now. Catch me on the next upcoming trollbox podcast (https://twitter.com/trollboxpodcast) where I make a guest appearance and talk at length about the above!
Trade well,

Thoughts on the current state of Bitcoin from someone who participates in much of the ecosystem [and tipping thread ;) ]

Hey guys,
So this is something I've been looking at for a while now, and kind of seeing some things die and other things be born. Some things are getting easier, and other things getting more difficult. I want to take this time to outline the last few months and how my sentiment is reflected towards the market. I have to say, the market generally matches how my "emotions" playout towards the ecosystem as a whole.
I'll outline just a few short things on both the bearish and the bullish sides of my sentiment, even if things don't effect the overall sentiment much (at least according to most traders and people) I'd like to point them out because I view them as notable.
Some of the not so good things that have been happening:
Anyway, in many respects it feels like a lot of the bitcoin ecosystem is dying, and maybe we should all panic, cry, and shit our pants, but a few things haven't been going badly, and in fact, I'm looking optimistic that the next time a surge of new users enters the market for whatever reason, there will be a much more developed and kind ecosystem to take part of. No one is going to be touting the next 5 second confirmation coin, no more of the ubiquitous "investment" opportunities that await the uninitiated.
Other than my love for bitcoin in general, this is what makes me not panic sell, and what keeps me optimistic about the bitcoin future:
Alright guys, thats my sentiment overview, and I hope it wasn't tl;dr for most of you. But one last thing I want to point out in terms of user growth. We need to break out of our comfort zone. We need to help people get into it. That btctipping dude? He has the right idea, except, it does kinda feel like he's promoting his own website? I dunno? Anyway, Changetip some newbies. Just the other day in the reddit lounge I tipped a guy a coffee, and he then said "Man that was evil, now I have to spend the next hour learning all about bitcoin"... who knows, maybe his sentiment that the media helped paint is one shade lighter now just from a a couple millibit tip. You can do that too, and I'm here to help you get started. I've got some millibits to give away, give me some awesome feedback, criticism or build your own thoughts on this thread. I tip you, then you go pay it forward. Lets do this!!!

Big game. Dash, BTC, DDoS.

Disclaimer:
Everything below is my assumptions based on watching charts and trollbox on Poloniex for the last two weeks. As it should be in trust-less environment, you have to verify the evidence yourself. Please feel free to correct me with your evidence. This all might be a coincidence.
Foreword
After the bubble which brought Dash to 59.9USD and then crashed to 37USD, then went to 51USD again, and stabilized at average 45USD later. People were afraid of trading on Dash. This made it possible for people to invest in DASH for more or less stable prices.
Related or may be not related events: a) Massive DDoS on Dash Masternodes b) Poloniex protects its Dash full-node from massive DDoS attack on Masternodes, by detaching it from network (wallet is still available for the exchange). In the same time telling customers to blame Dash network for this issue. However the network worked well and transactions were getting through without any problem. c) FUD about Dash centralization and Masternodes as a source of problem.
This causing limited liquidity for DASH.
Evidence (use any moderator name instead those two with the same search criteria): http://www.polonibox.com/?username=Oldgamejunk&messageText=ddos http://www.polonibox.com/?username=smallbit&messageText=ddos
The scheme
There is a scheme to drain people off their money, running at the time of writing on Poloniex and may be on the other exchanges as well. The target auditory (mostly) are west coast of US, Japan and China. However it is may be related to location of those involved in scheme and not specifically targeted auditory.
1) On the 2nd or 3rd of March someone have set up an arbitrage trading bot on DASH/USDT pair. This bot has kept dash price between 43-47 USD (the range is down to 42USD as of time of screenshot). DASH/USDT 2w/2h chart: http://i.imgur.com/zPlPQeK.png
This trade bot making impossible longs on Dash/BTC. The only profiting party here are the shorters.
2) In the same time margin tradings for DASH are available only through DASH/BTC pair. DASH/BTC 2w/2h chart: http://i.imgur.com/voUC751.png
3) Traders are trying to wreck this bot (or working in collaboration with bots owner) using following scheme:
3a) FUD BTC to get it as low as possible measured in USDT. DASH/BTC rate goes up. DASH price in USD may stay unaffected or rise a little. Easy done using uncertainty on SEC decision regarding Winklevoss ETF.
3b) Start shorting on DASH/BTC. Earning Bitcoins. Here is the zoom in to 24h/15min as of time of writing: http://i.imgur.com/QdGjyUO.png
3c) HYPE BTC, with this the DASH/BTC rate is decreasing. Here is the zoom in to BTC/USDT 24h/5min as of time of writing: http://i.imgur.com/JSWfpG2.png Here is DASH/BTC 2d/2h http://i.imgur.com/uyqA1Is.png DASH/BTC 24h/15m blob:http://imgur.com/4561d103-5a31-4e91-8ee8-b012fdce6fc5
3d) repeat the loop.
Qui prodest? Who gains off this schema?
1) Bot owner gains profits in USD 2) Group of organized traders profiting in BTC. It is very possible that initial sells getting BTC lower and lower for some period made by the same group.
Who will be blamed for this? Of course Dash. Alts are always a pawns in this game. This schema is not used for the first time. It is just another alt involved in this schema. It is already called by traders scam coin, ponzi schema, shit coin, etc.
What can you do, to stop it? The most obvious way is to HODL: Do not sell your BTC. It is what they are after.
Any further ideas are welcome.

My Bitcoin story

I am relatively noob bitcoin enthusiast with an interest in Bitcoin since mid-2011. I want to share some details of my experience in case they are useful to somebody. I'm using a throwaway for obvious reasons. Be advised I'm not a native English speaker.
I first heard about Bitcoin in May 2011, when the media widely reported on the Silk Road for the first time. I wanted to buy drugs through the Internet, of course. It sounded like a cyberpunk fantasy come true. I bought 6 BTC @ $20 to a local reseller and, after some tinkering with the Silk Road site, I couldn't make my mind to choose a dealer and actually take the risk. I didn't need the money nor the drugs (it is actually easier and more convenient to score about any drug in my city) so I postponed the plan indefinitely.
Summer came, the 2011 bubble rose and exploded, and I totally forgot about my 6 BTC. I checked it some months later and saw BTCUSD was about $2.50, pocket change. I decided to keep the BTC locked as a novelty and souvenir from my bad investment. I didn't have more than two or three thousand euro to spare and since I was going to spend a month abroad on vacation, I needed the money. The idea of buying more coins never crossed my mind.
Fast-forward to February 2013, I stumble upon some tech article and see Bitcoin is now worth a bit more of what I paid for them. Interesting. So I re-download Bitcoin-QT and plug my old wallet.dat in (which I had backed up in Dropbox). It starts downloading blocks and I see my 6 BTC intact.
The I started reading, and subscribed to /bitcoin. My interest caught on seriously and some days later I bought 10 BTC @ $40 to my good old local reseller. I wasn't even aware about exchanges other than Mt.Gox. I tried to open an account and get verified (the queue was about 1000 people) and then I discovered Bitstamp, the natural option for any European bitcoiner. I got myself verified and started hoarding BTC.
I bought 8 BTC more @ $47.
And then 6 more @ $73.
I told some friends about it. Four of them, all from different ages and backgrounds, jumped in and were immediatly hooked. Lots of fun ensued. Group mails were sent, links exchanged, FAQs read, Bitstamp accounts opened and verified, and our whatsapp group caught fire even at night.
You all know what happened by then. The Big Bubble was developing and we were riding it to the top. The last of my friends got in at around $100, enough to not being hit very badly when the Big Crash came upon us. I was a bull on the long term, but I had about $1300 invested and panicked a bit. I sold 11 BTC @ $66 (making a 50% profit on my average purchasing price) in what I regard as my more emotional financial decision to date.
Bitcoinland was bleeding. Someone posted the suicide hotline number in /bitcoin. Spartans held and died by the hundreds. Some guy posted about how he had ruined his marriage, another one confessed losing most of his college savings in the crash. This shit was so very, very real.
I realized that holding was for losers: there was money to be made in the unforgiving volatility. I was essentially discovering daytrading.
I started to feel a certain degree of stress. I checked the prices constantly. I told myself I could afford to lose the money, but in reality I was deluding myself and losing sleep on it. By the next week I realized that I was far too obsessed for my own good. I had to recoup my original investment in order to ease my mind.
Through some reckless, misinformed but in the end lucky daytrading, I managed to recoup about 3/4 of my investment and still had about ~15 BTC to play with. Sometime in April, a redditor made a casual comment about ASICMiner. This dividends thing sounded interesting. I read AM's available official info, registered in Bitfunder and bought 12 shares @ 0.74 BTC. I entered the world of Bitcoin stocks to never look back.
Fast forward to today. I know every Bitcointalk forum, I have read every comment, trollbox, article and business plan, played with lots of stocks and multiplied my coins by three. My experience hasn't been without bumps, though. I bought Cadoo.AvalonB3 and lost money on it. I bought 100TH and sold with a 30% gain. I tried Nastyfans, got disappointed by it and sold my seats at a big loss. I bought 5000 AMC shares at 0.0008 and dumped them at 3x the price before the shit hit the fan. Also, I have read at least two books on daytrading, and I feel more in tune than ever with the financial reality of the world, and the fear and desperation and mathematics of human nature that make it work. Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing, but I surely feel different somehow. Less naïve, that's for sure.
I've sold 5 of my AM shares today at > 600% ROI. I'm keeping another 7 for as long as I can, as well as some free BTC and some fiat just in case we plunge to unknown depths. Mostly, I'm exhausted. The Bitcoin game takes a toll, particularly if you have a social life, a relationship or a job you're supposed to like. It has been an instructive, intense and fun ride so far, but I'm taking a rest and enjoying the summer.
Some things I've learned so far.
As you can see, it's all very basic stuff, but very commonly forgotten.
If you have read till the end, congratulations and thanks. I will consider it a success if only one person learns something new. To the rest, I hope at least having entertained you.
Feel free to comment, ask and post your own bitcoin stories.
