I've created a fork of Bitcoin Core 0.9.1 that invalidates all future Ghash.io blocks

It's mainly a thought experiment, and I realise this is in no way a proper solution.
Here's the code:
https://github.com/DivineOmega/bitcoin/tree/0.9.1
Compile it and run it if you want. However, be aware, if people using a non-modified Bitcoin client try to send you coins that have been mined by Ghash.io recently, you likely won't get them.

Dogecoin Core 1.7 (based on Bitcoin Core 0.9) is out now

Official announcement: http://www.reddit.com/dogecoin/comments/25t1nf/dogecoin_core_170_released_check_in_here_for_all/
This is a complete rebuild of the Dogecoin Core client to use Bitcoin Core as a base. Still the same lovable Scrypt coin with the dog on it, but now taking patches direct from Bitcoin. An extensive review process of all changes was undertaken as part of this work, and users should see significant stability and performance improvements.
Bitcoin 0.9 release notes can be found at https://bitcoin.org/bin/0.9.0/README.txt
This includes Heartbleed fixes from 0.9.1 as well.

You Really Ought to Run Bitcoin Core If You Own Any Bitcoin Anywhere

Just about everyone I know is now racing to buy bitcoin. That's great.
I'm advising everyone to run Bitcoin Core if they've got some hard disk space - even if it's in pruned mode.
Why?
Because every node out there adds robustness to the network, validates each transaction, validates each block, relays blocks and transactions and makes any attack on bitcoin's network less feasible.
So if you've got value stored in bitcoin, increase the strength and value of the network in a cheap way by running Bitcoin Core.
NB: This is not to say you need to hold or even monitor your coins using bitcoin core, although it's very good for that too. It's just to say that you running bitcoin core is good for bitcoin and so is it's in your interest to do so.

Bitcoin Core 0.9.5 release candidate 1 tagged | Wladimir J. van der Laan | May 19 2015

Wladimir J. van der Laan on May 19 2015:
Hello,
I've just tagged release candidate 1 for 0.9.5 (tag v0.9.5rc1).
The reason for this backport release is to make BIP66 available on the 0.9 branch. This has been requested by a few users, mostly miners.
Full (preliminary) release notes can be found at:
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/0.9/doc/release-notes.md
In contrast to 0.10.x releases it is unclear whether there will be enough gitian signatures for a binary release, any help with building is welcome.
See https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/0.9/doc/release-process.md
(many steps have changed since then, so the release process for 0.10 or master will not work)
Wladimir
